La combo perfetta

The Perfect Combo
A journey through the Musts of Interior Design
Do Must-Haves in furniture exist?
Yes and No.
Yes, because some incredible objects are designed with such passion that they become unforgettable.
These are the pieces that transcend trends, time, and space; you want them all, always, everywhere.
No, because we all know that some trends may flourish and fade, return, and leave again. But sooner or later, they knock on the door again.
So, when do we encounter a Must? When we recognize it, when we make good use of it, when, trendy or not, it still appeals to us.
And with this spirit, we address this month’s topic: Which Musts and How to create the PERFECT COMBO?
In the Sit In collection, we can indulge in finding what suits us best, and I assure you, every style will find its rug.
In this article, I've decided to feature a personality that has always made us dream, an icon of style par excellence, representing each of our proposals perfectly.
Who is it?
But let’s start with our combos and the first must-have, the ANIMAL PRINT.
“Animal print style is a fashion trend that includes elements inspired by animals, such as furs, animal prints, and vibrant colors that imitate the coats of various animals. The animal print look has been popular since the 19th century and remains a popular trend today.”
Animal print can be appreciated as a single theme (zebra, leopard, python, etc.) or mixed in all its patterns. We can opt for small details here and there or larger portions in our view, like rugs, sofa and armchair textiles, and large prints.
We might define it as bold and rock, but the truth is that when styled right, it becomes incredibly elegant and refined.
I love to suggest a combination of multiple rugs in the same room, from zebra prints to solid colors, paired with large spotted cushions and intense colors like black, white, and neutral shades in between, from grays to browns.
Animal print style can be elevated with touches of gold and chrome or softened by adding wood and velvet; I like it a lot this way.
Then there’s a Must that may escape some, but I present it to you, hoping to revive its entire story in your memory: TURQUOISE, from the Mediterranean Sea, Moroccan tiles, and stuccoes to ancient stones.
It’s a color that, especially in Italian culture, appears in seaside or lakeside homes.
In recent years, it has darkened, turning into teal and petrol, entering city homes.
I love it in its more delicate shade, but I also find that in modern and minimal environments, it can offer so much.
Its secret? The hint of green inside that makes it soft and warm.
“Turquoise is as inviting as it is energizing; it warms and refreshes at the same time, encourages and soothes. Consider using turquoise in any project where the goal is not only to relax but also to invigorate.”
I like to imagine it in velvet and satin fabrics, patterns reminiscent of our Mediterranean taste, and contemporary touches like black.
This combination offers us many opportunities at home.
On the floor?
In every room, a rug with matching shades!
And then Art Deco, how could we forget? Since the 1920s, it has never left us, and do you know why?
Because it reminds us that after the First World War, people wanted to celebrate, toast life, and have fun, leaving history behind.
Art Deco style is the joy of living; it’s that lavish detail that makes you forget difficulties for a moment.
In furniture, it’s brass, bright lights, crystals, and often geometric yet gentle shapes.
Walking barefoot on a rug, in a little black dress with a pearl necklace, and of course, a glass of bubbles in hand.
Black and brass is my favorite combination; I add leather details, the tufted workmanship, and some exotic memories from transoceanic travels.
As you’ve seen, Audrey Hepburn has accompanied us on this journey through styles and perfect combinations. As always, we hope these ideas can help you furnish your home.
